As founder of Ideas Culture – an innovative consultancy that delivers unlimited fresh ideas to solve everyday business challenges – Yvonne has combined her 20-year corporate career spanning consulting, professional speaking and training to problem-solve through creative thinking.
It all started at Microsoft, working in tech support where Yvonne honed her innate problem-solving abilities to provide solutions to staff from a user’s perspective. She then established her own consultancy business specialising in technical support.
Yvonne noticed a gap in the national media environment for a technology expert who could demystify computing and make it easy and entertaining. She developed a technology guru alter ego, Ms Megabyte, and popped up on television sets nationally, building Ms Megabyte into a household name through regular appearances on radio and in magazines; eventually publishing the non-fiction best-seller, Conquer Your Computer.
Capitalising on her analytical IT background, problem solving skills and unbridled creativity, Yvonne spotted a market niche for a company that works solely on producing ideas by combining left brain analytics with right brain creative thinking.
After researching a range of textbooks and theories on how to build innovative organisations through creative thinking techniques, Yvonne discovered there was no well-rounded, closed loop solution on using key brainstorm processes to foster creative thinking which would in turn drive innovation. She found the classic brainstorm techniques were missing some vital steps which she now includes in her sessions to generate up to 80% more ideas.
“It is a fact that everyone can be taught to think creatively,” Yvonne said, “It’s just that business people haven’t been given the tools and techniques to get out of a thinking rut. I saw a real need to teach businesses how to foster creativity in their workplace and turn great ideas into action”.
And Ideas Culture was born.
Ideas Culture comprises a portfolio of ideas delivery services to businesses low on creative fuel.
Yvonne speaks on brainstorming, creative thinking, idea generation, idea evaluation and idea implementation.Having achieved the National Speakers Association highest international designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), Yvonne motivates audiences from all walks of life to embrace creative thinking techniques. These techniques are used for business growth as well as personal development. Audiences range from ten person in-house teams to 1000 person conferences.
